I’ve been really busy these days, so that’s why the confessions stopped for a while.
So, if your confession hasn’t been posted yet, don’t worry, the inbox has more than 50 to go. Hopefully I’ll be back by the weekend.

I hated how blind Xena was to Akemi’s obvious manipulations, both in the present and in the past. I hated how it cheapened Xena’s relationship with Gabrielle, since it made it seem like Xena had a thing for bards/poets and therefore Gabrielle wasn’t anything special. Akemi even echoed Gabrielle’s “take me with you” line. I hated how, after saying that she was done paying for her mistakes in seasons 3 & 4, Xena suddenly decided to take the blame for something that wasn’t even her fault. I hated how the ending gave the feeling “why bother trying? The bastards win in the end anyway”! Here we had Xena, who had become a symbol for many people on the ropes, and they killed her. Just like that! Also, in the Xena world, no one stayed dead. Ever. Except for the main character! Rob Tapert may have created the show. But that doesn’t automatically grant him any respect. And I think he’s an asshole for ending it the way he did. It was a big “f*ck you” to the people who made the show what it was and the people who continue to love the show more than 10 years later.
FIN should have been a trilogy. With the last episode fixing all the stupid sh’t the first two episodes threw at us!
Here in Brazil we have a monthly online magazine, Revista Xenite, and I’m thinking of writing something and I need your help… So, if you’re willing to help a fellow xenite, please, drop something at my askbox or reply in the post.
Also, even if you could reblog this just to let other Xena fans see it, I’d say a big thank you.
Keep calm…
